    DeFlock and community mapping

Also known as: DeFlock, deflock.me, community camera mapping

The volunteer movement that maps ALPR camera locations into OpenStreetMap so residents can see surveillance infrastructure in their own neighborhoods.

    What DeFlock is

DeFlock is an open-source project that crowdsources the locations of Flock Safety and other ALPR cameras and stores them in OpenStreetMap, where anyone can reuse the data. Contributors photograph a camera, record its coordinates and operator, and tag it. Because the data lives in OSM rather than a private database, it cannot be quietly taken down.

How Oklahoma mapping connects to it

Find Flock Oklahoma draws on the same open data pipeline for Oklahoma cities and adds public records, local reporting, and resident verification on top. Corrections submitted here can flow back into the open record, so a report about one camera in Tulsa or Oklahoma City improves the map for everyone.

    How to contribute safely

Photograph cameras from public sidewalks or from your vehicle, do not trespass, and do not interfere with equipment. Documenting infrastructure in public view is lawful; tampering is not. Submissions here are anonymous by design.

    FAQ

Is DeFlock the same as this map?

No. DeFlock is a national volunteer mapping project. This site focuses on Oklahoma and layers public records, verification status, and local reporting on top of open map data.

How do I report a camera I found?

Open the camera on the map and use the verification form, or submit a new sighting with the location and a photo. Reports are anonymous.
