About Find Flock Oklahoma

    Our Mission

Find Flock Oklahoma is a transparency project that maps the locations of automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. We believe that public awareness of surveillance infrastructure is essential for informed civic engagement and accountability.

This tool is designed to help residents understand the scope and distribution of camera surveillance in their community, fostering an informed public dialogue about privacy, safety, and civil liberties.

    What Are Flock Safety Cameras?

Flock Safety is a company that manufactures and operates automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras. These cameras capture images of passing vehicles and their license plates, storing this data for law enforcement access.

    • •Cameras are typically mounted on poles, street lights, or utility infrastructure
    • •They operate 24/7, capturing every vehicle that passes
    • •Data is stored and can be searched by law enforcement agencies
    • •Some are operated by police departments, others by private businesses or HOAs

    Cameras mapped:—

We map every known surveillance camera across the state of Oklahoma — not just Flock Safety, and not just Tulsa. Every marker on the map is sourced from publicly available datasets and tagged with its provenance so you can verify it independently.

    OpenStreetMap (OSM)

    ODbL

Pulled via the Overpass API, filtered to man_made=surveillance within the Oklahoma bounding box. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.

    DeFlock.me

    deflock.me

Community-maintained Flock-specific inventory, merged with OSM where available. Data © DeFlock contributors.

    EFF Atlas of Surveillance

    atlasofsurveillance.org

Police-disclosed deployments (ALPR, drones, body-worn cameras, Ring partnerships) compiled by the Electronic Frontier Foundation and University of Nevada, Reno. Filtered to Oklahoma.

Methodology: records from multiple sources are deduplicated by identifier (@id) and by proximity (≤25 m). Each camera is enriched with city and county via nearest-centroid lookup, then tagged with the dataset(s) it came from — visible as a badge on every entry. Cameras are categorized by both operator (local PD, state patrol, federal, tribal, transportation, Flock, private business) and vendor (Flock Safety, other ALPR brands like Motorola/ELSAG/Rekor, general CCTV, gunshot detectors).

Note: This data may not be complete or fully up to date. Camera locations and operators change. We welcome corrections via OpenStreetMap or community submissions.
